BACKGROUND 

He was born, Carold Bongani Dlulisa on the 4th of February 1965 at Umzumbe South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal Province, South Africa. He attended his first primary school at Hamuha Primary now renamed to Siyakhona Primary School (Located in Saint Faiths) from 1973 to 1976, But completed his standard 5 at Dududu Primary School in Umkomaas. Carold Bongani Dlulisa completed his high school education at Siyajabula High School located in Botha's Hill, west of Durban where he is currently located.

He got married to a beautiful lady, Thabisile (Maphewa) in 1994. They are blessed with two sons, Sbonelo and Sibani.

INTEREST IN MUSIC

He fell in love with music, singing at a very young age. He could sing lady's soprano and alto .In 1979 at standard 5 he joined a school choral music where he emerged by singing tenor with the trio in that choral music choir. This is where and when his interest in doing music begun.

At his high school level he started growing and got busy around music as a singer at school. He became involved with gospel groups simultaneously with youth church choir, Solos, Duets and Trios.

RE-BRANDING AS AN INDEPENDENT ARTIST:

Carold Bongani Dlulisa organized his first ever Gospel music Festival in his church which led him to do his 1st album title Sembathe Jesu, in 2006 .The 2nd album followed in 2011 titled Ukuze and these two album projects were just the beginning of Carold Bongani Dlulisa emerging as a gospel artist. In the year 2022 he released a double single after a long while titled, Who Is This Lord as Carold Bongani Dlulisa. His aim with this project was to get back and busy in music like he was at his high school. It was also a reminder of his existence in music after a while absence. He called it the 3rd Junction since it is the 3rd project from the previous two albums.

In a short while after the Who Is This Lord project release on digital music stores, he received positive responses from listeners of the songs liking his work. He received reviews, comments and recommendations mostly about his artist name. This led him to rebranding himself from Carold Bongani Dlulisa which sounded too long, to CB Dlulisa something short, simple and catchy for music fans to remember.
